So what is this “Pash Frozen Yogurt” you might ask? Well, it is probably one of the best-frozen yogurt desserts, snacks, or splurges I have come across. And no I am not being endorsed to say this. I was able to sample some and do have to say, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Let’s just say I am one of those people who thoroughly enjoy wandering the grocery store aisles, deciding what different items to have throughout the week. Odd, I know, but go with it. Normally, I do come across the frozen delectable’s aisle and waver between splurging on the full-fatty goodness of Haagen-Dazs or attempting to stay semi-healthy with some reduced-guilt sort. Well, I end up debating the issue for too long and have to eventually leave sans ice cream or frozen yogurt.
If you have been following some of my posts, you may have seen that I came across the name, quirky and hilarious at that, of a frozen yogurt company in my DailyCandy emails. Foxy’s is an Australian based company that has been widely successful with their fresh, unique, and full-flavored frozen dessert, Foxy’s Super Premium Frozen Yogurt. It comes in four different foxy flavors, which are pretty much part of the reason I wanted to sample them so badly. When do you your frozen yogurt named “Naughty Pash” or Sassy Pash”?
Let’s breakdown why you should be searching for this froyo as you read my post:
– Clever Names. You want to be proud of what you are eating and be able to share it to the world. Sassy or Naughty Pash or Low-Carb Low-Sugar No-Fun Frozen Yogurt. Yes, I thought so.
– Gourmet Ingredients: Only the best in the market’s luxurious flavors
– Made with the highest quality California milk. I’m sure you have heard that Happy Cows come from California 🙂
– Super low in fat and sugar (and yes, this is COMPLETELY different from the statement above…we’re talking less of the –ose words)
– Gluten Free
In a side-by-side comparison test to some of the varieties I’m sure we might have been sampling (Haagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry’s so-called “Frozen Yogurt”), it carries a chunk less calories per serving (1/2 cup serving size not bad my friends), close to no fat (certainly limited saturated fat), and even carries a bit of Vitamin C. That would be from the fresh and finest ingredients used. I reviewed what I knew at the time about the funky frozen yogurt and shared some of my predicted favorites. Let’s see if my predictions held true.
Honeycomb & Caramel Chunks
A pure honey and butterscotch creamy delight. I seemed to be able to pick out a strong hint of butterscotch, but couldn’t pick out the caramel bits until I started to dig a little deeper. This one is perfect for after dinner, just to sweeten the night. It has a great light taste, almost as if the carton has been whipped before packaging.
Wild Berry & Chocolate Flakes
I’m sorry, the people out there who have will-powers of steel, good for you, but for the rest of us, I know if I said chocolate, I’d hope you would come running. This mixed wild berry and chocolate flavoring is just something to sprint for. It had an icy texture at first, but lead into a whipped and airy surprise. You can actually see the little flakes of chocolate and can certainly taste its richness against the berry flavor. What was great is that this froyo had authentic taste and texture. I could pinpoint a strong cherry flavor, much different from the cartons that claim they use real products and somehow still leave you with a strongly artificial flavoring.
Mango & Passionfruit Smoothie
I am always hooked by the word passionfruit, so to have something, as close to natural while still emulating the strong tropical flavors, is pure heaven. In my opinion, the combination of flavoring reminded me completely of a fruit smoothie. It too had a very light and fluffy consistency, making for a mouth-watering taste for the tongue.
Although I am not much of a fruity-sorbet-like dessert, so I would probably save this lighter fruity flavor for an afternoon snack.
Vanilla Bean & Strawberry Hunks
I predicted this smart combination would be my favorite and I have to say I was sold by the frothy texture that harmoniously paired vanilla with California’s favorite berry. This too was not your average strawberry flavoring, it was the real deal.
Want to know the best part? It’s completely GUILT-FREE! These are a couple of words that I wouldn’t mind hearing at all. Of course we can eat everything in moderation, but adding two extra syllables doesn’t hurt at all 😉
They haven’t unloaded their goodness on the American population just yet, at least in stores, but feel free to hop over to their website for a look at their flavors, purchasing options, and maybe a special Pash e-card to brighten a friend’s day. It’s just a virtual hop, skip, and a jump away.
So, how would you Pash?
