What to Do on a Rainy Day?

I love it when it is pouring in the morning, everyone gets dressed up in their rain boots and two hours later, the sun comes out.  Yep, everyone is still in their boots looking like fools.  Well, it looks like we are in for a few days of boots (and no sun), so I’m trying to run all my errands and stock pile the goods so I don’t have to drive around in the crazy flash-flood mess.  Also, this might enable me to get down to business in terms of studying.  I might even be able to celebrate with some Christmas movies and baking.  Hmmm, that would be an enticing study break, don’t you think? We still have two days left in November, but seeing as every retail store started the day after Halloween, it’s alright to celebrate a tad early.

Work was cancelled today, so I have extra time to work out, finish some homework, start a couple of essays, and study for my final sales test.  Ever have this happen to you?  😉

Oooo, I’m also testing out a different workout called 30-30-30, which I found on Pinterest.  I’m not great at creating workouts for myself (or sticking to them…I would rather have a group to work out with and someone screaming at me or pushing me to work), so I end up going on the elliptical, which I don’t think is very effective anymore. I’ll let you know if it is any good.

What are some of your favorite Christmas movies?  I swear, I don’t think I have seen 95% of the movies made (and at least 99% of the classics), so I just need to make a list and start checking them off. Oh, and any suggestions for a rainy day weekend?  I’ll attempt to work out (if outside doesn’t work, I’ll take a trip to the gym) and probably study my butt off.

Also, Graham-cracker House making tonight! Yep, supposed to be gingerbread, but graham crackers are more easily available.  Should be a hoot.

  1. You just helped me to realize that I never actually made a gingerbread house with gingerbread as a kid…it was always graham crackers, LOL! Hey, use what you got!

Some of me and my brother’s childhood favorites to watch are: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original), Home Alone 2, It’s a Wonderful Life (OK that’s just one of my faves), A Christmas Story, Nightmare Before Christmas (works anytime between October & December!), and of course, A Charlie Brown Christmas!

Stay dry! This rainy weather has been crazy!

    • I will have to put ALL of those movies on my list 🙂 I watch a number of them but it’s always good to get another round of them.

I never realized you could make houses with graham crackers!

  2. Elf is absolutely hands down my favorite Christmas movie. If it was raining (or snowing, in my case), I would have a christmas movie/cookie marathon 🙂 Actually, I’m going to do that even if it isn’t snowing, so that’s my recommendation 🙂 Can’t wait to hear how your pinterest workout goes!

    • Elf for sure. I want to act out so many of those scenes in NY!

As for the pinterest workout, I ended up going on the elliptical, treadmill, then realized my friend was teaching a spin class, so I attended that. After a few hours in the gym, I called it quits 😉 Maybe this weekend.
