Let’s finish off that lovely Christmas Challenge.
21. Do you travel on the holidays? – We only travel short distances (see below) and this is due to the fact that my entire family (both sides) is located in Southern California. We did however travel to Hawaii on year for Christmas, but did the actual traveling before/after the day itself.
22. Eggnog or hot chocolate? – Well, I wasn’t such a fan of eggnog the last time I sampled it, but might give it a shot now that my palate has adjusted a bit. But, I’m always up for hot chocolate. My mom just received a gift from one of her students that has Tahitian Vanilla Hot White Chocolate as well as dark chocolate, so I’m hoping to test that out 🙂
23. Your plans for Christmas 2012 – Well, today I am running fartleks with my sister (she runs for her school and so I am using her as my training coach. I will be running behind her actually), then coffee hopefully with some high school girlfriends. After cleaning up and a couple of errands, we are heading down to Laguna to celebrate the festivities with one side of the family (and make gingerbread houses). Then it’s Christmas run at home, off to Santa Barbara to celebrate with the other side, and then Mammoth Mountain on Wednesday!
24. Favorite Christmas Eve Tradition – You know, this is difficult because there are so many things we do year after year and so many things that are new each year. I think I just like the anticipation of the holidays, celebrating together and getting all dressed up. I actually enjoy the stress of getting everything together (maybe even cutting things too close?) and then relaxing. Maybe because I am an adrenaline junkie 😉
Sometimes we decorate gingerbread houses, others we play flag football by the beach. We sing carols (or attempt since most of our family is off key, but that’s not here nor there) 😉 I would love to bring back the tradition of giving a white elephant. Even if it is some piece of junk or a random item in the house, it’s always funny.
Now, here’s a look at what the holidays mean to me. I hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and family and have a wonderful Christmas Eve 🙂
Soaking up the wonderful California weather (whether it be sunny at home or snowy in Mammoth)
