WIAW #22 – Start of School STRESS EATS

Welcome back my friends.  Another Wednesday has arrived and will soon be gone. Oh boy, I saw this on her website, the ABC’s of Recipes and basically it’s like food porn.  That and have you ever found yourself browsing on Foodgawker?  Ah, I’d like to spend my free time browsing these.

My winter quarter has started and I’m still spinning in schedule, classes, homework, and oh this thing apparently called being social? I’m still trying to figure out what is normal for me (studying, relaxing, social, etc).  This quarter will be a little more difficult than last quarter, but I can’t let it overwhelm me.  How do you avoid stressing out too much?

But enough about that. Let’s get to the food.  I’m sure that’s why you clicked on the link, right? Let’s keep it short and sweet (something that rarely occurs with my posts).  I’ll return soon with longer posts (once I get this stupid schedule figured out…why I make it more difficult than it needs to be, I have no idea)

Before I got back to school, I made sure to do a Costco run with my lovely grandma Nance and sister Meghan.  Healthy foods BRING IT ON!  I made sure to stock up on all my fruits and veggies (Let’s just say my half of the fridge is filled to the brim).  When in doubt, grab a bag of carrots.

Breakfast: Chobani Greek Nonfat Yogurt mixed in a leftover Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter jar (mmmmmmm, it’s always a good time for pumpkin), bowl of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and half a banana, bowl of nuts (~1/4 – 1/3 cup walnuts, almonds, pepitas) Also, a cup of tea to start it off right.  Very British, don’t you think?

Lunch: Experimenting with lunch items.  Right now it’s carrots, part of a leftover honey crisp apple, Herbalife meal replacement/shake (Vanilla and it’s actually quite tasty and filling, surprising, I know!) Lunch is the worst part of the day for me, so this is a quick jolt and I’m on my way

Snack: feeling a little peckish so I broke into my sunflower seed butter, cookie butter, and celery (no picture as it was quite spur of the moment)

Dinner: My roommate’s high school friends are staying with us for the week, so we are going above and beyond on our dinner selections. Tuesday was steak, potatoes, asparagus, and corn (all prepared on the grills outside)

Last night was definitely a treat and I’m looking forward to the rest of the week.  Tonight Danielle is making us chicken and potatoes.  It’s stupendous and I’m slightly worried for when they leave. Just kidding.  I have an entire list of vegetable recipes make at a moments notice.

Yes it’s only the second day, but I needed to take a load of my plate by digging into some baked goods.  Bad habit, but hey, it could be worse. A little bit of Nutella Brownies and a small Cookie Butter Butterscotch cookie.

  1. Ummm all of your food looks delicious. I’ve never tried a meal replacement shake and don’t have a lot of interest in it but the dinner you ate is my FAVORITE meal. I miss summertime for my fresh corn on the cob. And for a snack, a spoonful of cookie butter? A girl after my own heart 😉
