Who knew that deciding what to do with the rest of your life, along with where to live, could be so stressful? Yes, I have been one of those kids who moved home after college, but according to various Wall Street Journal reports, this is the norm for our generation. Save some money, enjoy the free food, you get the picture. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been doing my fair share to help out but the plan is in the works to move out soon.
Anyways, I spent all day yesterday at Hulu, attempting to figure out my short-term plan. I had hoped to write up a few blog posts, alter the look of my blog, maybe self-host, maybe even stumble upon the perfect apartment. Yeah, I was dreaming big there. I did find some potential housing options, but really just became more aware of the different websites and rental-search process. I am excited to settle in and create new furnishings this fall. I’ve even started putting together a board on Pinterest and have been bouncing around ideas in my head.
Well, it wasn’t all bad since I got to see a preview of The Awesomes, an animated show exclusive to Hulu and created by Seth Myers and Mike Shoemaker. Not only did we get to see a preview (perks of being a Hulugan), but we got to have a Q&A session WITH SETH MYERS. Did I ever mention how that was a part of my bucket list? To essentially meet or see him in person. CHECK!
In terms of writing, I obviously wrote today’s post up, but found that forcing myself to write, simply in order to publish something, isn’t fun. I lose my creativity (or what I think is creativity) and it becomes a hassle and I start to resent something I love. This is just my way of saying, even if I don’t post on the daily, I’m still out there exploring, gathering recipes, and will be back to share my shenanigans soon.
Today we will be heading out to Nevada for our next family adventure – Lake Mead! The last time we went house-boating was definitely an experience. I’ll leave the full story for another post but to sum it up — Day 1 = both houseboat motors break while boat is in the middle of the lake, ski boat has detached from the houseboat with 2 iphones & 2 wallets, and we have lost contact with four high school graduate girls on two jet skis. Looking back, it’s all sort of funny but boy it was an adventure.
Here’s a little throwback to the days of Cottonwood Cove and Lake Powell. Aren’t we keepers?
