Thirsty Thursday

Anyone else thinking the same thing?  In this case this post isn’t about booze, but rather my affixation with other liquid beverages that may or may not be considered part of the healthy bandwagon.  I admit, I fell to the trend of kombucha.  It was good for awhile, but the taste and high price wore off after awhile.

I’ve experimented with some smoothies and of course iced coffee.  How fun would it be to drink your iced beverages out of here?  I guess we could call it Environmentally Friendly Redneck.  But onto the subject of juices.  Have you tried veggie juice?   And no, I’m not talking about V8.

Juices & smoothies.  Now there’s a fun subject.

It seems as if everyone is picking up a bottle of green juice or making their own.  Goodness, I read that even Martha Stewart is drinking it on the daily.  I can’t exactly remember when I tried my first green juice, but I was a little shocked at the flavor.  You do realize it’s pure vegetables, right?  Well, just like kombucha, it took some getting used to and now I can feel the benefit of drinking so many delectable juices.  The key is to include a bit of sweet in there either with green apple or lemon juice.  I’ve counted out ginger and beet, just because I don’t seem to gravitate towards those flavors.

IMG_9583_Fotor_CollageThis little gem of a store is located just off Colorado Blvd. in Old Town, Pasadena.  It’s called the Juice Farm and serves all sorts of tasty juices and smoothies.  I loved the fact that they had all their juices ready to go and chilling in a display case.  This enabled me to browse the various flavors and colors before making a selection.  I also loved that they came in glass bottles, perfect for storing in one’s purse if you are on the go.  You can return the bottle and receive $0.50 your next drink, but I decided to hold onto it and use it for future drinks.

The store is a bit difficult to locate if you aren’t familiar with the area, so I’d recommend using your phone or a map.  In fact, I didn’t really know it existed until I looked it up online. I’m hoping to make it back to test out another juice or maybe a smoothie but until then, I’ve checked another spot off my to-do and to-see list. 🙂

  1. i tend to only consume water, coffee, and alcohol as my liquids. every now and then i will go for a freshly made veggie juice, but the bottled ones weird me out! i have no desire to try kombucha haha.

  2. I really, really want to like veggie juice. I’ve really tried! I can’t do it though-every time I buy it thinking THIS TIME I’ll love it, I feel stupid when I end up dumping it.

  3. My Husband has a juicer and it’s my new favorite thing! But you’re right – I have to add an apple or some berries to sweeten it up! I also wanted to let you know I nominated you for the WordPress Family award!

  4. Wow. If Martha Stewart is drinking them too then you know it MUST be good 😉 I personally just drink cucumber and ginger juice. Speaking of which- I’ve been craving some all week. Come tomorrow (or maybe even tonight? 😀 ) I am definitely making some!
